Material Composition
GR2 Titanium Rod:
Composition: GR2 is a standard grade of commercially pure titanium with a titanium content of 99%. This grade contains only trace amounts of other elements such as iron, nitrogen, and hydrogen, strictly controlled to maintain its purity.
Characteristics: With its high purity, GR2 titanium rods offer excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability, and good mechanical properties, making them particularly suited for chemical and marine environments.
GR5 Titanium Rod:
Composition: GR5, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is a titanium-aluminum-vanadium alloy. It consists of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium, along with trace amounts of iron and oxygen. The alloying elements enhance its strength and high-temperature performance.
Characteristics: GR5 titanium rods combine the lightweight properties of titanium with the strengthening effects of aluminum and vanadium, providing high strength, good toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance, making them ideal for high-stress and high-temperature applications.
Mechanical Properties
GR2 Titanium Rod:
Strength: Relatively lower, suitable for applications where superior corrosion resistance and good machinability are required.
Hardness: Relatively lower, making it easier to machine but not suitable for high-load applications due to lower strength.
GR5 Titanium Rod:
Strength: Higher, with significantly greater strength and hardness compared to GR2, suitable for aerospace, automotive, and high-load applications.
Toughness: While strong, GR5 still maintains good toughness, suitable for applications that endure high stress.
Applications
GR2 Titanium Rod:

GR5 Titanium Rod:

Production Cost and Pricing
GR2 Titanium Rod:
Cost: The production process is relatively straightforward, resulting in a lower cost. Prices are generally lower than those of GR5 titanium rods.
GR5 Titanium Rod:
Cost: The production process is more complex due to alloying elements, which increases production costs, making GR5 titanium rods more expensive. The higher performance reflects in the higher price.
