Introduction to Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Alloy
Ti-6Al-4V (UNS R54600) alloy is a medium-strength α-β two-phase titanium alloy containing 6% of the α-stabilizing element AI and 4% of the β-stabilizing element V. The alloy is widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries because of its excellent all-round properties. The alloy can be used at long operating temperatures of up to 400°C. It is mainly used to manufacture fan and compressor disks and blades for engines, as well as important load-bearing components such as beams, joints and spacer frames in aircraft structures.
The main semi-finished products of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy include bars, forgings, thick plates, thin plates, profiles and wires.
The alloy has good process plasticity and superplasticity and is suitable for a variety of pressure processing and forming. In addition, the alloy can be welded and machined in a variety of ways.
