1. Composition

Zirconium Pure Sheet: Composed of high-purity zirconium, typically containing over 99.2% zirconium with minimal to no alloying elements.

Zirconium Alloy Plate: Contains zirconium with small amounts of alloying elements, such as niobium (Nb) or tin (Sn), which enhance specific performance characteristics, making it advantageous in certain applications.

2. Mechanical Properties

Pure Zirconium Sheet: Without added alloying elements, it has relatively lower strength but offers excellent ductility and toughness.

Zirconium Alloy Plate: With alloying elements, it generally exhibits higher mechanical strength and wear resistance, particularly under high-temperature conditions.

3. Corrosion Resistance

Pure Zirconium Sheet: Known for exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in acidic environments and steam, making it ideal for applications requiring extremely high corrosion resistance.

Zirconium Alloy Plate: Maintains strong corrosion resistance, with certain alloys even outperforming pure zirconium in specific corrosive environments. Niobium-alloyed zirconium plates (such as Zirconium R60702) offer superior corrosion resistance in high-temperature or highly corrosive media.

4. Application Scenarios

Pure Zirconium Sheet: Commonly used in chemical processing equipment, nuclear industry cladding, and other corrosive environments where high strength is not essential.

Zirconium Alloy Plate: Due to its higher strength and stability at elevated temperatures, it is suitable for more demanding environments, such as high-pressure components in the nuclear industry, aerospace applications, and high-temperature structural parts.
