Molybdenum is a hard, tough, silvery-white refractory metal with a melting and boiling point of 2,610 °C and 5,560 °C respectively. Molybdenum is chemically very stable at room temperature and will not be corroded by hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid or alkalis, and has high stability of properties and dimensions at high temperatures. In addition, molybdenum has high thermal and electrical conductivity, low vapor pressure and high modulus of elasticity.

As a non-renewable important strategic resource, molybdenum is an important basic material for the development of high technology and the construction of modern national defense, and is thus widely used in many fields such as iron and steel, petrochemical industry, aerospace, transportation, nuclear industry and electronics. For example, it is added to steel as a microalloying element to improve the strength, elasticity, toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of steel. The amount of molybdenum used in steel accounts for more than 80% of its total consumption.

At present, the annual consumption of molybdenum products in China is about 15,000 tons, which is mainly used in the manufacture of molybdenum wire, molybdenum rods, glass electrodes, molybdenum plates, molybdenum flakes, molybdenum boats, molybdenum crucibles, molybdenum powders and so on.

Molybdenum has excellent properties: high melting point, high creep resistance and low thermal expansion. These properties are significantly enhanced by the addition of other metals to produce molybdenum alloys. Depending on the application and operating temperature, we can supply you with pure molybdenum or molybdenum alloys.

Molybdenum sheet can also be used in the manufacture of production of sapphire crystal production furnace as well as other high-temperature furnace insulation screen, heater, connectors, and plasma coating with sputtering targets, high-temperature-resistant molybdenum boat vessels and so on.
